What sets Lorenzos apart from the many other Italian restaurants on the Fylde Coast is a menu that's heavily influenced by Northern Italian cooking, specifically from the area around Lake Garda. Yes, you'll find all the usual pizza and pasta suspects here but it's the house speciality dishes that showcase the cooking of head chef Sue Lorenzini, who trained with famous Italian chef Roberto Cressini in Italy.
In contrast to the standard Anglo-Italian fare which utilizes lots of tomato and garlic, northern Italian cuisine is more subtle and sophisticated, focusing more on herbs, seasoning and the natural flavours of the food. Try the Sarde Alla Gardesana (Sardines fried open and boneless, a Lago Di Garda speciality) and the Pollo Fantastico (Chicken supreme stuffed with mushrooms encased in pancetta with champagne sauce). The wine list has been personally selected by proprietor John Lorenzini and you must also try the fantastic range of grappa.
